Fifth Night Free
Fifth night free is a hotel program perk where, on an award stay of five or more nights, one night is free. In effect you pay points for four nights and get the fifth at no points cost. It rewards longer redemption stays.
What it means in practice
The benefit is usually tied to elite status or to booking award stays of a certain length. On a five-night award booking, the points cost of the cheapest night is waived, which works out to a built-in discount of one night in five.
Longer stays compound the savings. Two consecutive five-night bookings can each trigger the perk, so travelers sometimes structure a ten-night trip to capture two free nights rather than one.
Example
Five award nights at 40,000 points each would be 200,000 points, but with fifth night free you pay 160,000 points and stay all five nights.
